welcome!
I’m McKenna Koon Thornburgh (née Koon). I’m an Associate Director of Strategy at Instrument and a yoga and meditation teacher.
In strategy, I’ve done a lot of work in full funnel planning, creative development, and production.
In yoga, my teachings consist of meditative and joyful flows and restorative practices.
So far, I’ve had a good ride.
Now for the long version:
What’s fun about doing what I do for work, is that I get to find ways to build all kinds of connections: between people and people, people and things, and people and themselves.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to learn from some of the Smartest People Around and work with some really incredible companies.
I’ve worked with a place that makes sneakers. I’ve worked with people that make movies and shows, and the place that makes screens to watch them on. I’ve worked with a few places that make alcohol, and a few places that make snacks. I’ve worked with a place that makes energy drinks… I didn’t sleep much during that one.
I’ve reported on Congress in DC (a lot of suits), on wellness in LA (a lot of nut cheese), and on ski life in Idaho (tore my MCL).
One time, I wrote a book with my friends that became an award-winning YouTube show. That was fun too.
